Undress Flamenco!

July 16, 2019

Staying at The Townhouse. Then you have got to try this...

Discover why Andalusian culture since 1464 AD has used Flamenco to show the hidden part of history, through an immersive flamenco heritage experience and watch an unforgettable flamenco performance at “Jardines de Zoraya”.

Your experience will begin learning about the origins of flamenco and music theory to facilitate a deeper enjoyment of the performance to come. You’ll learn the basics of rhythm by using the most primitive instrument of all: the palms of your hands. Then you’ll stroll through the silent streets of the Albayzín as your guide (a flamenco dancer who uses the traditional oral method to share the culture of Flamenco, an art that was passed down to him by the gypsy culture, family, street musicians and the elders of the neighborhood. He graduated from the professional Reina Sofía Conservatory of Dance in Granada and has performed in Spain, Dubai, Paris, Tokyo, Copenhagen, Singapore, Rome, Hong Kong, Marrakech, Mexico) shares stories about the roots of this legendary art. At the end we’ll discuss our thoughts about the connection between the artists and this legendary art form.
